Join tenor, Casey Candebat, and the Northwestern University Contemporary Ensemble with this rousing concert of modern music by California Composers.  Candebat will perform Bernard Rands' Canti de Sole.  The Chamber Ensemble will be conducted by Dr. Robert Hasty.  Tickets are $6 and $4.

Wichita Grand Opera will be the setting of Verdi’s searing epic of love and vengeance focusing on the struggle between the young Count di Luna and the rebel Manrico, the girl Leonora – who loves Manrico but is desired by the Count – and the gypsy Azucena, who has vowed vengeance against the Count’s father. WGO’s world-class cast is led by renowned Australian tenor Julian Gavin and Met Opera star Zvetelina Vassileva.

More than a century after its premiere, Richard Strauss’ fantastic setting of the celebrated Oscar Wilde play still has the power to both shock and thrill audiences.

Acclaimed director/performer John Stephens returns to Wichita Grand Opera for the company premiere of Donizetti’s Don Pasquale. In Donizetti’s sparkling comedy, composed in an eleven-day burst of inspiration, the elderly bachelor Pasquale forbids his nephew Ernesto to marry the penniless Norina, but the young couple hatches a hilarious plot to change his mind.
